About the Career Coach

Karen Hagans

Karen Hagans has dedicated over 30 years to the career development profession, serving 21 years at Ashland University as the Executive Director of Career Services. Currently, she is serving as the career coach for Ashland University’s College of Business and Economics, a life calling coordinator, and is an adjunct instructor.

Karen earned her Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University and her Bachelor of Arts from Ashland University. She holds a Myers-Briggs®
certification and Certified Career Management Coach and Certified Job Search Strategist designations.

Karen is past-president of the Ohio College Personnel Association and the Ashland University Alumni Association. She is a recipient of an Ashland University Mentor Award, the Ashland University Alumni Association Special Achievement Award, and The Dr. Glenn L. Clayton Award. In addition, she was awarded The Fayetta M. Paulsen Accomplished Leader Award from the OCPA and the President’s Discretionary Award. Karen partnered with University Grants to secure over $650,000 in grant funding for program development.

Karen has brought many career coaching opportunities to Ashland MBA students through jobZology and both in-person and tele-appointments.
